These Walls Do Talk Screening with Unlock the Box National Bus Tour

Join us for the national Unlock the Box bus tour designed to raise up voices about the use and abuse of solitary confinement. We’ll be screening stop motion animations created at Walls Turned Sideways by Pablo Mendoza, Benny Lopez, Madeline Mendoza, Alfred Higereda, and Natalia Maciorowska. In addition we’ll have information about the Nelson Mandela Act, a legislative effort to limit solitary confinement to 15 days.

The Journey to Justice Tour is a national bus tour designed to end the use of torture in the U.S. carceral system, specifically solitary confinement. The tour will travel coast-to-coast on an eight-week mission to educate and inspire. The tour bus acts as a mobile hub for change growing our national network of change-makers. With stops organized by grassroots state campaigns, it employs a creative, blended framework of education and entertainment to create engaging, informative, and community-building experiences nationwide.
